In the beginning of August the new ACI marina in Slano was opened, named „Veljko Barbieri“ after the founder of the biggest chain of marinas in Croatia. The new marina is located in Slano, about 30-45 minutes by car, north of Dubrovnik.
This well protected marina deep inside the Slano bay, is a modern and well eqipped (parking, reception). The only thing that was lacking is the number showers (there are only two).
On a nearby hill „Hajduk“ supporters made a coat of arms out of dry-stone wall in celebration of their favorite football club. Slano is a peaceful village with only the one hotel and a few restaurants. The only nighlife here is the one you can find at the local cafes.
