ACI marina in Komolac near Dubrovnik is like a city by itself. All the seamen know about it and it finds its place on every itinerary; not only because of its proximity to the pearl of the Adriatic – Dubrovnik, but for amenities that will make stay here even for a few days.
The marina is surrounded by hills on 3 sides. Provoding a natural protection from bad weather conditions. It is situated on the river Ombla, in Rijeka Dubrovačka (literally river of Dubrovnik), and it is the only marina from Korčula to Croatian border with Montenegro.
The marina itself is a multiple times winner of the best marine in 100-400 berths category, and also of the Blue flag which signifies the highest ecological standards. As mentioned before, here you can find all the amenities that a yachtsman would need: supermarket, laundry service, coffee shop, restaurants and even a harbormasters office. My favorite thing is the pool next to a restaurant which provides great refreshment and relaxation during hot summer months. Families with children find it most attractive and convenient.
If you happen to have trouble with your boat or need spare parts, ask assistance in one of a few nautical services inside the marina; the kind personnel at the reception desk will give you information you need.
Just a short 5 minute walk away outside of the marina and you’ll find yourself in a nice restaurant on the river bank, Vimbula, with fish and meat specials and house wine. Make sure you have some sort of insect repellent if you are seated outside during the summer.
There is a gas station on the outer side of the pier; take in consideration that it is open till 1 pm off season and all day till 7 pm during the season. Small warning; keep close to the pier because of the shallow waters on the opposite side of the river bank.
