Orebić is a small town located in the valley of hill St. Ilija Gromovnik. Orebić is famous for its nautical past and many sailors whose origins are from Orebić. Orebić is located in the middle of pennisula Pelješac, in front of famous old town Korčula on Island Korčula. It’s 112km of air route and 50 Nm away from Dubrovnik. Sailing from Orebić to Dubrovnik can also be very interesting since you may stop on island Mljet or in some hidden bay on pennisula Pelješac. During the summer the port of orebić can be very crowdeed since every 20 mins a ferry goes from Orebić to island Korčula and back. The channel betwen Korčula and pennisula Pelješac is also a heaven for surfers since during the summer a strong maestral blows in the afternoon. This is a reason why you may see a lot of surfers from surf center Viganj near Orebić every afternoon.
There is also a nautical museum in Orebić and it contains old maps, and nautical heritage from Orebić. You may also enjoy sea and sun on numerous beaches in Orebić and have a nice ice cream, cocktail, smoothie or maybe eat a fresh fish from local fishermen in restaurants by the sea. The port of Orebić is very safe but since it is not very deep, bigger boats can not enter it. Also, nearest gas station is in Korčula, and it is not that bad to explore archipelago around Korčula since it hides a few small and interesting islands and crystal clear sea…
