The lucky ones who can set aside time and money for cruise in Adriatic sea are facing, in recent years, with the problem of lack of berths on the islands. Of course, this is happening in July and August when, apart from sailing boats and catamarans in charter, boats from neighboring countries come to the Adriatic, mostly in the owner’s variant, and all have similar nautical routes and destinations. Stress reaches its highest level when the weather forecast announces bad weather and then even the most experienced ones give up of anchoring in small bays and look for a safe place. Although places such as Vis, Komiža, Starigrad and Hvar have organized a great way by tying boats on buoys in ports, it can still happen that in high season it is not possible to find an empty place after 14:00. From a few years ago, online booking of berths is also possible, but it still does not work fully and has limitations. Larger marinas have the option of direct booking through their sites (eg ACI marinas) or offer the possibility of sending inquiries. Due to the continuous growth of mobile applications and portals most of the marinas are also offering part of their moorings through mentioned portals.
We have checked for you and made a list of marinas and portals where you can book your berth:
ACI MARINAS
The Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) owns the largest number of marinas. On their site, you can quickly and easily book a berth in their 22 marinas along the Adriatic coast.
The berth is paid in advance in full amount with the addition of 10% on the connection price (30% for the Skradin Marina and Palmižana Marina). After selecting the marina, date of stay and with entering of basic information about the ship and guests you will receive confirmation of the reservation. Before entering the marina you will need contact them on VHF channel 17 and marina staff will guide you to the reserved berth. The disadvantage is if you change the route due to time and do not arrive at the booked time of the marina you will not get a refund of the reservation.

MARTINIS MARCHI MARINA
Martinis Marchi is a new marina in the small village of Maslinica on the island of Solta. It offers 50 berths for ships up to 35 meters. Within the marina there is a castle in which is a luxuriously decorated hotel and restaurant. Reservations are on request, but, from our own experience, marina front office response realy fast.

MARINA BAOTIĆ
Marina Baotic is a new, large marina located in Seget Donji, near the town of Trogir. In addition to a large number of berths, there is also service, petrol station, parking lot, restaurant, supermarket, shop, swimming pool, apartment and fitness studio. Berth reservation is available on request.

MARINA KAŠTELA
Marina Kaštela is also a newly built marina in the heart of Central Dalmatia, near the Split airport. There are 420 berths in the sea and almost the same number of dry berths. In the marina and near it are services, parking, shop and restaurant. As in the previous two marinas, direct internet reservations are not possible but only on request.

MARINA FRAPA
Marina Frapa is situated between Šibenik and Split, in Rogoznica. It has 450 berths in the sea and 100 dry berths. Within the marina there is a hotel, a complex of open swimming pools with a night club, sports center, restaurant, petrol station and supervised parking lot. Reservation is possible on request.

In addition to the marine site reservation in recent years, there are also a couple of applications that have tried to unite all the marinas and harbors and offer online reservation in one place. From our last year’s experience we did not get the impression that they were fully functional, but it’s worth trying … Here’s a list:
LOOKMARINA
https://lookmarina.com/
Lookmarina application must be installed on your smart phone. After installation, you can easily find and book berths in the marina and see the written experiences of other sailors who have been in the marina. The disadvantage is certainly the limited number of marinas and berths in the offer.
MYSEA
https://www.my-sea.com/en/login
MySea is a symphatic mobile and web application that provides berth reservation as well as a lot of information about places, bays and restaurants. Reservation system works, and the only drawback is the poor offer of marinas and moorings with the possibility of direct booking.
MARINEBOOK
http://www.marinebook.hr/en
Marinebook is a portal that also offers plenty of information about the place and restaurants, along with the booking of the berths. Last summer there was no possibility of direct booking of berths, but only on request. The disadvantage is again the limited number of marinas and moorings with the possibility of direct booking.
Finally, to preserve your nerves and your reserved and paid berth, always study the reservation conditions and check till when it is necessary to come into marina because some marinas have limitations on arrival time.
