The new catamaran model of the French shipyard NEW 51 marks a new era in the development of the catamaran model and the desire of the shipyard from La Rochelle to go further in the direction of ecological development of the brand.
New deck design
The deck layout on the new FP 51 has been completely redesigned, marking a new era of Fountaine Pajot catamarans that provide even more space and comfort. The biggest innovation of this 51-foot cruise catamaran is the open space between the saloon and the cockpit. An innovation that simplifies communication between the kitchen and the large table in the cockpit, which will offer you an even greater feeling of freedom and space, already characteristic of Fountain Pajot models.
High capacity renewable energy
Fountaine Pajot, in collaboration with the design team of Olivier Racoupeau Design, designed the New 51 with a large area of solar panels without compromising design.
The large flybridge with a comfortable space for a safe stay and a sunbathing area is equipped with solar panels fully integrated into the ship’s line, capacitated to produce more than 2000W of renewable solar energy. This solution allows the NEW51 catamaran to generate 5 times more solar energy than other catamarans equipped with solar panels.
Space and a lot of layouts
In order to have the best possible market position and suit all customer needs, the New 51 adapts to your wishes and your cruising needs and is available in 4 different versions. Each cabin has its own bathroom space, including a version with 6 cabins & 6 bathrooms (the first 51-foot catamaran on the market which offers this option). Another interesting thing about the possible cab layouts is the version of the Double Maestro that is exclusive to the market. The Full Maestro version offers a large and luxurious owner’s cabin throughout the hull.
The New 51 is undoubtedly a catamaran for navigation that is comfortable to live on board and that will respect the environment. This catamaran will allow you to sail sustainably and comfortably, not forgetting the excellent sailing performance.
Catamaran designed for private owners and charter market with crew
New 51 in addition to the already mentioned versions of the cabin layout has the possibility of additional accommodation on the bow for professional crews in the left and right hull with great comfort. It is an important option for owners and charter guests who want their privacy and independence, without having to worry about the safety of the boat during navigation or mooring with a professional skipper.
Fountaine Pajot did not forget about his DNA and wanted to preserve what makes his catamarans recognizable and among the best on the market when it comes to communication and coexistence at sea. The wheel is located on the right side of the ship between the cockpit and the FlyBridge, which facilitates navigation and communication between the skipper and the crew.

The most impressive data from this comparison is the Sail / Weight ratio of 8.5 for the New 51 which makes it by far the best model in its category.
It should be added that Volvo 60hp engines are standard engines and that a 75hp engine upgrade is possible as an option.
Space optimization
What will impress you the most is the way the Fountaine Pajot has decided to optimize the space on board to get completely separate living spaces that are perfectly connected and that offer great comfort, convenience, space and safety. Although a 51-foot catamaran, the NEW 51 catamaran can be operated with a minimum number of crew because all steering controls are in one place.
Fly Brige of 16m2 with deep and comfortable seats, 2 sunbathing areas, direct access from the cockpit, great communication with the helmsman and excellent access.
Ergonomic wheelhouse with 2 separate areas: navigation & maneuvering for greater comfort, direct access from the cockpit, greater safety for night navigation, good position to use winches, excellent communication with the cockpit and kitchen, all maneuvers are centralized.
Cockpit of 24 square meters! The cockpit has a large ceiling (1.6m x 0.95m), a defined place for a life raft, a huge space for a sun deck with protective screens (hard), excellent communication between the cockpit, saloon and kitchen area.
Salon of 23.2 square meters of living space with a large sofa area for maximum comfort of 8 people, a lot of natural light thanks to the panoramic windows in the ceiling, a door that opens across the width of 3 meters, saloon table for 8 people (1,5m x 0 , 79m).
Kitchen, large space for refrigerator with drawers with a total capacity of 190L, stainless steel oven and stove with 4 burners, double sink, excellent ventilation above the stove, additional capacity for refrigerator / freezer of 90L, separate island.
The cabins are, depending on the layout, of different dimensions. The left and right bow cab have beds of 2.05m x 1.60m, the left and right aft cab have beds of 2.05m x 1.55m. Each cabin has at least 2 or 3 windows for optimal ventilation.
The new FP 51 is a continuation of the successful catamaran SABA 50. This model has been in our charter for years under the name “Sunshine Reggae”.
