12th Beneteau Rally Croatia

Dear sailors and friends,

Our 12th Beneteau Rally Croatia has finished with great success. We would like to thank everybody who took part of it with wish to join us next year also. This year we had 10 crews competing on Beneteau sailing boats, from all over the world: Croatia, Belgium, France, Netherland, South Africa, Japan, Canada, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Norway. For those of you who were not able to join us, here is a brief report.

Rally officialy started on Sunday, 07.05., in ACI Trogir with skipper´s meeting and pleasant gathering among participants. Afterwards, they all went to the old town center of Trogir where a professional guide was waiting for them.

First leg started at 13:45 in front of Trogir, near small island named Čelica, under 30 knots of wind.  All boats came on time in Maslinica on the island of Šolta where a tasty dinner was waiting for the participants at Martinis Marchi restaurant.

Start of the second leg was early on Monday, 08.05. All boats were in front of Maslinica already at 08:30. With the lack of wind at the beggining, all crews managed to arrive in time to Vis. The crew on Oceanis 45 „Stončica II“ consisted of our Sailing school participants with our sailing school instructor, Zoran Kalinić, as the skipper, done the best job and finished on the first place. There was no time to relax because snacks at the restaurant „Vatrica“ were already ready for our participants. With tasting of good domestiv wine and local delicacies specific to the island of Vis as „Viška pogača“, „Viški hib“, carpaccio of fish and salted fish, crew members relaxed and met each other better. After a relaxed socializing our cheerful group headed to the Archaeological Museum of the town of Vis. The beautiful building of the Archaeological Museum preserves many artefacts found in the area of the island of Vis together with many amphorae found in the sea in front of Vis. In the evening we were enjoying in good fish and wine in famuous restaurant „Pojoda“.

Third and also the last leg from Vis to Trogir started on Tuesday, 09.05. With good west wind all crews gave their best and came on the finish on time. The cheerful party continued the party in Trogir. A gala dinner was served at the restaurant “Ola” in Seget together the awards’ ceremony and prize giving, accompanied by great music and dancing.

Great races and food, excellent company and fair play, all contributed to the excellent atmosphere, with many laughs and parties marked this Beneteau Rally.
