After many years spend in charter, we are happy to say that we finally mastered the art of packing for a week of sailing. It’s easy to over pack thinking you’ll forget some essential items, but the truth is you can buy things once you arrive in Croatia. Most of the islands have a supermarket, pharmacy store, post office and small boutiques, so do not be worried if you forget something to bring with you.
Let’s start with your luggage. We recommend a duffel bag, because is so much easier to storage your bag properly once you are on the boat. The boat space is limited, and you don’t want your luggage to be on your way all the time.
The super important travel stuff / essentials
· passport
· boat license ( if you are booking a bareboat charter, you will need to bring your valid boating license)
· water-resistant wallet
· cash ( store and restaurant’s on Croatian Islands are still working more with cash then credit cards …on bigger Islands you will find ATM or bank )
·medications (every boat has a first aid kit with basic and necessary materials)
·travel adaptor
·sunscreen/ sunblock
Sailor’s fashion
· obviously, swimming suits, shorts, shirts, swimming shoes ( there aren’t many sandy beaches in Croatia, so if you‘re picturing yourself walking on the beach you will definitely need a pear)
·dear ladies you do not need 30 pairs of shoes or 30 dresses, try to plan your outfit before
· long sleeves, fleece jacket, sweatshirt, hoodie, wind breaker, etc… It is frequently windy on the water and some summer nights can be slightly chilly
·deck shoes or rain shoes
·sunglasses
·hats
·backpack ( so you can go on daily hikes, excursions …)
·last but not least, don’t forget to leave a little extra space for your souvenir’s on your way back
Extras
· snorkeling equipment is also a very good idea, so you’ll want to check if this is already provided
·double check do you have a water sport toys on the boat available ( SUP, donut, sea bob )
· camera
·family games
You don’t have to bring everything listed here, and you can definitely bring items that are not listed.
