Nautical destinations: Host

Island Host is named by British  general William Hoste  .Between year 1805-1811 British  boats were controlled Adriatic sea and Vis was called “Gibraltar of Adriatic” or “Small Malta”…Since than Vis was always main strategy point for whole Adriatic… The longest army on island was Yugoslav.

Thanks to them today you can see on island  many hidden military places which makes Vis  interesting  and very popular for sailors.
