In order to turn your sailing vacation on a luxury boat into a complete pleasure, hiring a hostess is necessary. She is a very important crew member as well. She helps with mooring, knows the boat, takes care of food, serves small snacks while you swim, prepares breakfast and lunch or dinner, takes care of cleanliness on board. It is an active job which requires a lot of energy and requires adjustment to a new group of clients every Saturday. The hostess is your local guide on the boat and someone who will save your time and provide everything you might need.
If you decide to hire hostess, please contact reservation office on time. You will be asked to fill in preference list according to which hostess will see if you have any allergies, she will get familiar with your eating habits (vegetarians, gluten free), what you want to eat…She can order food in advance and food can wait for you on board before your arrival. Don’t forget to make a refund for the first purchase as hostess does it from her private wallet.
We need to point out that ships are not hotels, food storage is limited, refrigerators are ship-sized and should not be opened very often. During your sailing vacation you need to be familiar with the fact that it is not possible to have a lunch that requires long cooking and preparation like in a restaurants. Food is used according its priority. Hostess will not be able to buy all food on every island. That is why it is important to fill in preference list on time. This is also one of the reasons to leave the kitchen to the boat person and the local who will make sure that the food is always accessible, fresh and that you don’t have hungry person on the boat. Ultra Sailing has many years of experience in the yacht charter industry, and constantly works to enrich its crew with new experiences, to ensure the quality of service they provide to our guests. This year, before the season and after the strong storm, we organized a course for hostesses on our catamaran in Seget Donji, Marina Baotic. The purpose of the gathering was to exchange experiences , education and information about food preparation, moorings and skipper assistance, wine lists, museums, restaurants and all other new on the Adriatic islands.
We are happy that all 10 registered members did a great job and we enjoyed the tasting of prepared meals at the end. We had great time on the boat thanks to the host Marinela who has 17 years of experience as a hostess on yachts.
