A new nautical season has begun, the second in a row in the sign of the COVID-19. We decided to shine up our fleet with new models that will be more special, more intimate, more comfortable for the sea escapes we all dream of.

We paid special attention to our new catamaran from the shipyard Fountaine Pajot – Isla 40. In the years when we said goodbye to the older model Lipari 41 and Helia 44, it was questionable which model could replace these two successful catamarans that found happiness with a new, interesting and distinctive private owners.

We thought for a long time, and the decision was made – the catamaran must be ordered in the owner version. It was assumed that she must have as much equipment as possible. The name of the catamaran came by itself: “Island Escape”.

Why the owner version of the Isla 40 catamaran?

This is the smallest model of catamaran, and thus the lowest priced for rent. Guests who love her are small groups, couples, friends, families, singles. There are too many inquiries for this model, because, due to the pandemic, the groups have decreased, and boaters sail separately. This is a targeted catamaran because when you find yourself on it think “Here… I need this, this is my comfort enough. This desk is for my morning work… Why am I still working in the office when I can work on the boat? I will cook here great lunches… In the cockpit I can practice… When children come, they can be in a separate cabin, and they can bring friends with them… In this locker will fit my folding bike…“. And so thoughts go one after another when you are on this catamaran.

What does Isla 40 offer?

We have already announced this model and shown its 4-cabin variant. The 3-cabin variant offers a beautiful owner’s cabin space. The bed is high and the cabin is large enough to sideways into the bed. There are enough windows and light, so the rest of the cabin is an excellent storage and working space. The work table is in the extension of the cabin, surrounded by large cabinets and sliding solutions. Working at this table is pleasant, isolated from the rest of the ship and definitely needed nowadays. In the extension of the cabin is a separate toilet and a spacious toilet with shower. It is great that there is a lot of space left behind the shower for a possible washing machine, which is good for longer stays.

Such a large cabin is certainly a great solution for all those who have to work and check their jobs.

The exit from the cabin goes straight into the living area with a well-equipped kitchen and a sliding door to the cockpit. If necessary, the kitchen is connected to the table in the cockpit, and the communication between the saloon and the cockpit is transformed into a large space that can be used for more than 6 months a year due to the nice weather on the Adriatic.

The navigation desk with Garmin devices is right next to the owner’s cabin and cockpit exit. The saloon is spacious for this length of catamaran. We chose the variant of a small salon table because the one in the cockpit is most often used. The kitchen is made according to the already checked floor plan, with a large refrigerator, oven and storage sufficient for all kitchen inventory. Discussing with the hostess Lidija in our base, we concluded that this boat needs a lot of dishes because for long rentals the kitchen will probably be in use all the time.

The remaining two cabins are in the other part of the hull. Each cabin has its own separate toilet. The cabins are the same size, comfortable, airy and big enough for couples or children. The beds for these two cabins do not have space for side entry into them.

Two steps separate the cockpit from the skipper control console. The armchair is comfortable and the bimini is set. The view during the voyage is clear, the deck is visible and the skipper is not isolated from the rest of the crew if they are in the cockpit or in the saloon.

Lying cushions are also placed on the front of the catamaran. Those who like to sleep under the stars, can comfortably spend the whole night there. For the dinghy we ordered a Highfield with a 15 hp Yamaha. The dinghy stands on racks and therefor does not disturb navigation.

Prices of catamarans Isla 40 for rent

The Isla 40 is a new model. In the offer for rent Ultra sailing is as usual a pioneer, so at least in the 2021 season you will not find them for rent in the Mediterranean except in our fleet and of course in the owner version. Due to the Covid 19, rental prices are the same as with the previous Lipari 41 model and very acceptable when renting. They range from € 3,500 in the sub-season to € 7,200 in the heart of the season (July & August). Due to rising prices of new vessels and due to a lot of sold boats on the Adriatic that could not bear the burden of non-arrival of guests, it happened that the vessels were less and less on the Adriatic (mostly used sailboats were sold to Greece and Turkey). As a result, a further increase in the price of weekly catamaran and sailboat rentals is expected, especially those not ordered classically for charter use but in the proprietary variant.

Online reservations of this model can be made directly on the pages of our fleet. “Island Escape” is intended for rent from the new and modern marina Baotic near Trogir. The marina is only 12 km away from Split airport and accessible by car from any EU destination. During the epidemic, guests can go straight from the marina parking lot to the catamaran, and we can check in virtually because maneuvering and driving this catamaran is simple and does not require larger and stronger certificates as in catamarans with higher BT.

Yacht investment – buy catamaran Isla 40

Investment in a ship or so-called charter management has been present in Croatia for many decades as the world’s leading charter destination. In the uncertain tourist years caused by pandemics, more and more owners want to use the boat for several weeks and leave the rest to charter management. Isla 40 is a model that successfully fits into this story and at the time of the pandemic, the previous model, LUCIA 40, worked for 18 weeks, although at slightly lower prices due to last minute reservations. For those curious, the basic price for ISLA 40 is 298,669 € without additional equipment and VAT. Other details as well as the investment through yacht charter can be viewed on the official website of Fountaine Pajot in Croatia.
