Sandy bay in Croatia

In this blog we will continue with the theme sandy beaches in Croatia. If you’re still thinking  where to swim and enjoy this summer, check out this list and choose the best for yourself.

#1 Beach Rajska Lopar, island Rab

  • one of the most famous Croatian beaches, which is regularly in the top 100 Mediterranean beaches
  •  2 km long beach,  located in the northern part of the island of Rab, in a small tourist town Lopar
  •  awarded with the Blue Flag, which is a symbol of quality service and clean sea
  • if you are looking for beaches with a little less people, there is a whole series of similar sandy beaches in many coves on the north side of the island of Rab
  • when weather is good , you can anchor all over the bay

#2 Beach Bok, island Susak

  • the island itself is a natural phenomenon; a popular destination for boaters and divers, and more and more kayaking enthusiasts are visiting this island
  • east of the harbor there is an attractive sandy bay Bok, which has an anchorage for 30 boats; beach Bok has no facilities, and is far from civilization
  • the anchorage is protected from south and east wind

#3 Beach Sakarun, Long island

  • sandy beach about 800 meters long, located on the northwest side of Dugi otok ( Long island )
  •  she gained her reputation with white sand and a clean sea
  • a large bay and a popular anchorage… there are always places to anchor… the bay is well protected from all winds except south wind  … when the south wind is blowing , it is better to dock on the buoys in the nearby Panther

#4 Sotorišće, island Silba

  • the island itself is located west of Zadar and is also called the ˝gate of Dalmatia ˝
  • Sotorišće  is a place that, just like Sakarun, is overwhelmed by the crystal clear sea, the divine sand and the calmness that rests body and soul
  • note; although there are no sandy beaches on Sliba, we have to single out Satorišće for its fine sandy bottom, and include it in this list, as it is an undiscovered pearl and a balm for body and soul
  • Sotorišće – contains 25 buoys, it is forbidden to anchor at depths less than 5m (unsafe by storm)

#5 Beach Slatinica, island Olib

  • the island of Olib is well known for the  most beautiful sandy beaches on the Adriatic… this island of the Zadar archipelago is located 25 nautical miles west of Zadar, it is surrounded by islets hiding a wide range of coves and lagoons providing a safe shelter against all types of winds
  • Slatinica is an extremely shallow bay and a real untouched natural paradise… the coast is a combination of sand and stone, and the seabed is completely sandy
  • anchor  at least 100 m away from the coast…the bay it is not suitable for a longer stay
