A new generation of catamarans – discover Elba 45

From our long experience of renting sailboats and catamarans, catamaran Helia 44 proved to be a successful and well-chosen model. At the time of the pandemic, the Fountaine Pajot shipyard launched a new model as a replacement for the Helia 44 called Elba 45. Of course, we immediately ordered this model for our fleet of catamarans in Trogir. Due to the situation with Covid-19, the first model Elba 45 “Princess Valeria” was only a month late, which coincided with travel restrictions in the same period. Equipped and ready for charter, Elba 45 started renting in July (instead of the planned early June).

Unlike the Helia 44, this catamaran has a lot more deck area and space to relax. We ordered a grill in the cockpit, A/C was implemented not only in the saloon but also in the cabins, and a refrigerator for drinks in the cockpit was added, which is a trend in recent years.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including, for example, a coffee machine, microwave, huge freezer, and refrigerator, and is nicely connected to combine the table in the cockpit or in the saloon.

We are happy that, despite the poor promotion due to the pandemic, our Elba 45 did the summer and fall with a great response mainly from sailors who follow the trends and have experience of sailing on catamarans.

We noticed that renting a catamaran in the 2020 season was a kind of getaway to the sea, so our clients usually booked a catamaran for several weeks. We also made reservations with the skipper and hostess. Most often the inquiries were for smaller groups or families so the crew could have their cabins separate and was in some way isolated. The beauty of sailing in 2020 can be highlighted by being special because there were no crowds, and most boaters appreciated the time and space on this luxury catamaran as rehabilitation from the depression that has gripped the planet. There was no crowd at the moorings, quiet coves and more remote islands were required.

Satisfied with the results, for the 2021 season we decided to order another Elba 45, “Golden sun”, with the same layout and equipment. At the time of writing this blog, the catamaran is finished and its transport by sea from France to Croatia will start in late February or early March.

Here are a few variants that can be ordered for this model. The owner version is always the most luxurious, but we chose the version with 4 cabins / 4 toilets and 2 small bow cabins (for the skipper or as storage) because that is what is most often asked.

Catamaran Elba 45 rental prices

Prices for weekly catamaran rental range from € 4,800 – € 9,800. These prices are full, with no discount. Discounts that can be realized are from 5-15% for new catamaran models. Due to a large number of weeks transferred from the 2020 season to 2021, availability is limited for most catamarans in 2021, including the Elba 45. No major additional discounts are expected as charter companies have reduced their supply capacity mainly during the pandemic. Last-minute discounts for the yacht charter will be available only in case of cancellation of the previous guest and his inability to come due to restrictions. As Elba 45 is available from the luxury marina Baotić in Trogir, most guests come by their own transport from France, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Poland. From Trogir they usually sail towards Vis, Hvar, Lastovo, but also towards the Kornati. Due to flight restrictions and arrival by car, the popular one-way route Split / Trogir to Dubrovnik in the 2020 season was not so represented.

Purchase price of the new Elba 45

Deliveries of the Elba 45 catamaran are limited so at this point only the 2022 term can be obtained.
