Year is 1995 and tourism in Croatia exists only in traces. There were a few charter companies who were shyly working out of Sukošan and Biograd, thanks to loyal guests who were mostly Austrian. The most popular sailing boat from that time was Elan 33. Split and Dubrovnik basically did not have boats to charter except Elan 431 fleet which we would longingly gaze at, as those were the only boats anchored then in ACI marina Split. There were no guests, and the only people out on sea were families, sea lovers, rebels and few war profiteers on their motorboat.
All the banks were closed type ones, a tourism and sailing school were considered a whim of ours.
Despite all those things, there have been more than 2000 yachtsmen (and women) in our sailing school who have stayed very much in love with the sea, and to which we gave knowledge for future sea adventures and more than 67.200 charter clients in the past 20 years.
We have developed our charter fleet in the 3 most attractive bases Dubrovnik, Split and Trogir, and for years we have been promoting Croatia as a nautical destination on boat shows in Paris, Dusseldorf, Tulln…
In 1999 our hard work has been recognized by Beneteau, and we have been their proud representative ever since. In the last two years we have expanded into Fountaine Pajot catamarans also, so today we have have 40 boats from those two brands.
Today, 20 years later, we still stay at disposal to anyone who wants to be a part of our sailing school, purchase a boat or a catamaran, or simply rent out one for their well-earned vacation.
A big thank you to all our loyal guests who come back to us every year, as to those whose paths crossed with Ultra, even if only once.
