Prozura – island Mljet

Prožura is a small bay on the north side of Island Mljet and it was populated by residents of a small village also named Prožura and located in the center of the island.

Our Prožura is located between two hills; Mužanje and Spas and has a view on peninsula Pelješac. It is a small place with two taverns and around 50 small houses. Every year, second day of Južnodalmatinska regatta ( southern Adriatic regatta) sailors rest in this port and day after they start a third race in front of bay Prožura. There are few moorings and around 10 buoys in Prožura and moorings are very safe unless NE wind bura blows. In that case, the safest option would be anchoring under the small island just at the entrance of Prožura. This deep cove is rarely crowded with too many yachts so it is a very nice place for swimming and enyoing clean sea. If you are in need of ferry or gas station, a port Sobra, located 1,5 NM western from Prožura has gas station and is also related to Pelješac and Dubrovnik with ferry that goes few times a day. Near Prožura there is also a small fortification that was used by local population during the attacks from pirates. Prožura is with its deep blue sea and good location definitely one of the places that are worth visiting if you are on Mljet.
