Korčula is an excellent vacation spot if you are coming by car across Pelješac peninsula and then by a short ferry ride.
For yachtsmen, Korčula is a favorite destination as it is halfway between Split and Dubrovnik. ACI marina Korčula is right next to old town of Korčula, and it is supplied with everything you might need for further travels. During the summer, the town comes to life and is full of tourists, but a berth in the marina or a bouy in the bay next to it shouldn’t be a problem.
Crowds are not so big in May, June and September, so you can enjoy the town to the fullest. Old narrow streets of stone filled with galleries, small shops and restaurants should make for a great walk. Visiting Marco Polo museum should definitely be on your must see list.
During the day, if you are not lucky and are here with your own boat, you can rent a small boat and go for a swim to one of the islands of Korčula archipelago (Badija being the most popular).
